LBL low voltage monorail system can be shaped in the field and designed and cut to navigate curves for custom designs. It is available in straight, curved or circle kits with everything you need, then customize with any LBL spotlights or pendants. Or design your own custom Monorail System.

LBL Monorail is also available illuminated.

Design your rail.

Determine what you want to light.
Decide where track heads, pendants or both will be placed to direct light where you want it.
Design the Monorail run, connecting the lights.
Monorail can be shaped to follow room architecture or create an organic shape.
You can sketch out your room on paper. Draw in your lights, then decide how you want to design the track to suspend them.
You could use string to lay out your design on the floor to determine your length, especially if you have an especially curvy run.
Rail is available in connectable four or eight foot sections to be bent in the field horizontally to a radius as small as 6" and vertically to a radius as small as 24" as needed or used as a straight section.
Precurved pieces, prebent spirals and circles are available in a variety of sizes.
All rail pieces are field-cuttable and bendable.
Connectors allow monorail to make sharp angles or join in a "T" or "X."
Dead-End connectors allow you to switch and dim sections of rail separately.
Finish your rail with end caps.
Choose a finish; Satin Nickel or Dark Bronze.
Or choose a kit for a lower cost simple setup.

Determine your mounting.

Determine how far from the ceiling you would you like your rail to run.
LBL Monorail can be installed nearly flush to the ceiling. Rigid standoffs suspend track up to 96". Adjustable cable standoffs hang up to 25'.
Rail can be curved horizontally or vertically, to run up and down.
Rigid or cable suspensions mount to flat ceiling, T-Grid ceiling using a clip or sloped ceilings using a Standoff Ball Joint Assembly.
Unique Telescoping Rigid Standoffs make height adjustment easier.
Use a support every 3 feet.
The total number of supports depends on the shape of the track layout.
A rigid power feed may count as a support.
Systems with very unique shapes or many pendants may require additional supports.
When mounting on concrete ceiling or wall, use a masonry adapter.

Choose your lights.

Decide where the fixtures should be installed to put light where you want it.
Select from an array of low voltage track heads and pendants.
Add optional colorful and decorative accessories and functional optical controls.

Select your transformer.

Add up the wattage from the lights you have chosen.
Choose 12 or 24 volt. LBL Monorail has a maximum capacity of 300 watts at 12 volts or 600 watts at 24 volts.
Select a visible surface mount transformer or a hidden remote transformer with power feed canopy.
Surface mount transformers install directly to a standard junction box.
Smaller electronic surface mount transformers are well suited for small runs.
Magnetic surface mount tranformers have a higher wattage capacity.
Remote mount magnetic transformers can be installed further away, in an attic or closet.
Magnetic transformers minimize any voltage drop potential.
Select your power feed if you are going to use a remote transformer.

The Pass-Through combines a sleek design with the ability to use 1" standoffs and ease of installation. First, the installer mounts and wires the upper canopy in much the same way a standard line-voltage pendant would be mounted. Second, the installer connects the rail connector to the rail. Finally, the installer snaps the lower canopy into the upper canopy without the need for any tools. The electrical connections are made automatically due to the mating components. The transformer bay is housed completely in the bottom canopy, so should there be any problems with the transformer at any time, only the bottom canopy would need to be removed. The upper canopy and the entire Monorail run can remain in place. It's that easy.

The Mini
The Mini answers the question, how small can it be? At 1.4 inches deep and 5.25 inches in diameter, it is the smallest 300 watt surface Monorail transformer in the industry. It installs similarly to our existing family of 300 watt transformers and practically disappears on the Monorail system.

Truly minimalist design and the industry's smallest 300 watt surface transformer. Constructed of die-cast aluminum. Mounts to a standard 4" square ceiling junction box with round plaster ring (provided by electrician). To be used with special standoff specifically designed for this transformer.

LBL Surface Mounted Monorail Transformers

All Surface Mounted Transformers are encased in a finished metal housing and mount to any standard ceiling electrical box. Transformer and flexible feeder cleanly and attractively send power to your system. 72" length is standard for our feeder. It is easily shortened in the field. Longer lengths can be special ordered.

These transformers are all compatible with Telescoping Rigid or Adjustable Cable standoffs.

How to Calculate your Wattage Needs

To find which is right for your system, add up the total wattage of the pendants or heads you'll be using (the number of pendants or heads x the total lamp wattage per fixture = total wattage). A combination of wattages may be chosen as long as the maximum wattage allowed by the transformer is not exceeded.

Combines the aesthetics of remote transformers and power feed canopies with the flexibility of surface transformers.

Looks similar from below the ceiling to the power feed canopies used with remote transformers; however, it does not require access to a remote location because the transformer sits just above the ceiling.
The decorative canopy is the only visible portion of the transformer once installed.
Access to the back of the ceiling is not needed.

Easy Installation

Installs similar to a remodel recessed downlight
In remodel applications, the electrician will need to install the Remodel Recessed Transformer in close proximity to an existing junction box, drill through the fi nished ceiling in the location where the Remodel Recessed Transformer will be installed, and cover the existing junction box with a thin, field paintable metal cover (included) as the NEC requires.
In new construction, the electrician can simply bring power to the Remodel Recessed Transformer directly.
Insulation must be kept at least 3" from the transformer and housing (non-IC).

The transformer is concealed inside a housing that recesses above the ceiling.

Available with a 150 watt or 300 watt electronic transformer.
The transformer is equipped with a fast acting short circuit and overload protection that will safely turn off the system should a short or overload occur.
The unit can be reset simply by fl ipping the wall switch off and on.
Dimmable with a 600w low-voltage electronic dimmer.

150 watt Electronic can power lamps totaling up to 150 watts.
300 watt Electronic can power lamps totaling up to 300 watts.

Surface Mounted Transformers for 2-Circuit Monorail

LBL Direct Feed Surface Mounted Transformers for 2-Circuit Monorail

All 2-circuit surface mounted transformers are encased in a finished metal housing and mount to any standard ceiling electrical box. Typically, you use a surface transformer when an accessible location above the ceiling or in a utility closet is unavailable for installing a remote transformer. Please refer to the technical info on p. 518 for important transformer information and performance specs. 300W (2x150W) and 500W (2x250W) surface mount transformers are available to power your system. 10 AWG flexible feeder and 2-circuit wire cleanly and attractively sends power to your system. 72" length is standard for our feeder. It is easily shortened in the field. Longer lengths are available by special order.

These transformers are all compatible with Telescoping Rigid or Adjustable Cable standoffs.

Power Feed Canopies

When using a remote transformer, a remote canopy is necessary. Power feed canopies are mounted to the ceiling or wall parallel to a rail run. Location can be anywhere along the rail. 2.75" Round Canopies mount to a special 2" electrical J-Box (included). 4" Round Canopies mount to a standard 4" electrical J-Box with round plaster ring (provided by electrician). Remote canopies include 72" standard length of a 10AWG flexible, power feeder and complementing rail adapter. The feeder is field-cuttable and easily shortened by the installer. Direct-feed canopies include a complementing rail adapter flush with canopy.

How to Calculate your Wattage Needs

2.75" and 4" remote canopies are available for ceiling and wall remote transformer applications.
To find which is right for your system, add up the total wattage of the pendants or heads you'll be using (the number of pendants or heads x the total lamp wattage per fixture = total wattage). A combination of wattages may be chosen as long as the maximum wattage allowed by the transformer is not exceeded.
